By installing solar energy systems at 47 rural health facilities, the project aimed to strengthen the region’s COVID-19 response and improve health outcomes for approximately 225,000 people.

It is keeping vaccines and medicines cold and enabling health workers to provide care for the community, in the community. It has also increased the supply of clean water, which in turn has improved sanitation and hygiene – vital for improved health outcomes.
Light for Life also rolled out COVID-19 education and vaccine preparedness activities for all 47 rural health facilities and the communities they serve through the distribution of personal protective equipment and COVID-19 awareness materials.
