Pawa Bilong Niu Ailan installed solar systems for 9,000+ households, 76 community facilities and power 151 streetlights across Namatanai District, lighting up communities and changing people’s lives for the better.
Access to clean, reliable energy will support livelihoods, enhance wellbeing and safety, and improve health and education outcomes. By lighting up homes, the project is helping learners reach their full potential, both in the classroom and at home after dark, and the new streetlights are providing safer community spaces for everyone, especially women and girls.
In line with the project’s locally led approach, 592 local solar champions have been trained to help install the new systems and provide ongoing maintenance support, ensuring sustainable, long-term access to solar power.
